The following chart represents the value per head sold at Norton Livestock for each of the quarters presented. We have taken the gross dollar value divided by the number of head sold (a mix of cows, pairs, calves, feeder cattle, etc.). This results in a broad trend line of cattle prices at the local market. Caution: This data is not comparable from sale barn to sale barn as the mix of cattle may vary significantly. Furthermore, the mix of cattle sold varies from quarter to quarter.

November 13, 2025. We sold some smaller packages of bred heifers and cows that found a good market for the kind and flight size. If the bred stock we offer has some quality and condition there is sure a market for them. Calves were steady in price I’d say. We didn’t offer any feeders this week, but I think that class is doing pretty well considering fats have cheapened up. We’re going to offer some nice bred stock next week for our special bred heifer-stockcow-pair sale. Check out nortonlivestock.com starting next Monday, the 17th, to see detailed consignments.

Cows: Top of $193 cwt. A lot of med flesh cows in the $160’s cwt., a few in the $170’s. I’d say cow beef has slipped back just a little in price.
